About

Jonathan Turner is a professional broadcaster who has called over 1,000 games in the sports of soccer, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. As the Director of Broadcasting for the Michigan Soccer Network and affiliates, he oversees the entire production team from the youth-level games to the professional ranks all across Michigan and beyond. As a staff broadcaster for Horizon League and NCAA Division I member Oakland University, he covers all sports as a Play-by-Play Announcer for ESPN+ and affiliated networks. He has coordinated broadcasting and production duties at events such as the 2022 UPSL National Championships, 2023 UPSL National Championships, 2023 Mid-American Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament and 2023 USL League 2 North American Semifinals amongst numerous noteworthy contests. He is credentialed through the Michigan High School Athletic Association where has broadcasted audio-only state finals contests and has coordinated various contests and events on YouTube for various outlets. Jonathan Turner also has high school soccer coaching experience of five years at the varsity level at Birmingham (Mich.) Groves High School, where he led the school to a pair of league titles and a 47-41-2 record against quality competition during his tenure. He is a 2000 graduate of Troy (Mich.) Athens High School where he was a member of the fall 1997 Class A state championship boys soccer team during his sophomore year and also served as a team manager on Troy Athens’ girls soccer state championship team in 2000. Jonathan Turner is a life-long resident of the Detroit area and a multi-sports enthusiast, a father of three and married to his spouse for close to 20 years.
