MIDLAND, Mich. – The Women’s Super League season is short, encompassing only a couple of months during the summer.

That didn’t prevent Isabel Struble from making an impact on the league, which boats teams from Michigan and Ontario, Canada.

A huge impact.

Struble, a 2023 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, earned the WSL Golden Boot Award for 2024, leading the conference with nine goals over just eight games to take home the honor in her first year in the league for the Midland Soccer Club Fusion.

Known as just ‘Izzy’ in the soccer community, Struble, who played club soccer during her last couple of high school with Nationals Soccer Club, was also goal-scoring machine in high school as a forward and midfielder. She earned All-State Second Team honors in 2023 as a senior at Mt. Pleasant to go along with All-Saginaw Valley League First Team, All-District First Team and All-Region. She scored 24 goals as a senior for 13-7-1 Mt. Pleasant.

Stuble played club with Nationals Tri-County Black or even spent some time on the Nationals 06G Girls Academy-Gray during her high school days.

This past summer, Struble helped Midland Soccer Club put together a 4-2-2 record, good enough for a runner-up finish in the league.

A 5-foot-4, 130-pound scoring threat, Struble is set for her sophomore collegiate campaign at Northern Illinois University, where she is expected to be one of the Huskies’ top offensive targets in the midfield or up top at forward.

Last year as a freshman, Struble made 18 appearances for Northern Illinois and earned 13 starts. She logged 1.047 minutes, provided 18 shots overall and finished with a pair of goals for the 8-8-3 Huskies. Struble and Northern Illinois finished 6-4-1 in Mid-American Conference play before falling to Kent State (3-0) in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals.
