WEDNESDAY’S PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Dearborn takes KLAA-East lead from Belleville; Midland Dow hands Flint Powers first loss; OLSM edges Lutheran North

DEARBORN, Mich. – Revenge is sweet, especially when a league title is on the line these next couple of weeks.

Deaborn handed defending Kensington Lakes Activities Association-East Division champion Belleville just its second loss of the season Wednesday night, taming the Tigers 2-1 to overtake the lead in the eight-school division.

Dearborn (11-2-1, 10-1-1) had a goal called back and had to rally back from an early 1-0 deficit to prevail.

Trailing 1-0, Sienna Mroue corralled a long pass from Sarina Farhat and beat Belleville All-League keeper Addison Tulik to deposit the ball into the net.

Nadine Jawad scored what proved to be the eventual game-winner with 23:15 remaining in the first half to put her side up for good.

Belleville (11-2-2, 10-2-0) has now dropped two of its last three league games and slipped into second place in the league. The Tigers also lost to Livonia Stevenson (1-0) back on April 25.

Mackenzie Simpson scored in the fifth minute for Belleville, which finished 13-1-0 in KLAA-Eart play last year to claim its first league title in the KLAA.
