SOUTH LYON, Mich. – Five different players scored goals and South Lyon cruised in to the Lakea Valley Conference Tournament Finals Wednesday night with a 5-1 victory over visiting Walled Lake Northern.
The Lions, the No. 2 seed who shared the regular season crown with Milford (both had 18 points), led 5-0 at one time before conceding a late goal to the Knights.
Jaden Sumpter, Andrew Racka, Andrew Micu, Evan Shamberger and Christian Waddha scored the goals, with Sumpter and Shamberger also picking up assists in the win.
Shamberger led the Lake Valley Conference in scoring over the eight-game league schedule.
South Lyon (8-4-0) will face the winner of Thursday’s game between top-seeded Milford and fourth-seeded Waterford Kettering. The Lions are on a four-game win streak with a 10-2 scoring edge in that time span and are 6-1 in their last seven games and have outscored their foes 19-8 in those matches.
The game is set for 7 p.m. either at Milford or South Lyon depending on the outcome of the Milford-Kettering matchup.
