LIVONIA, Michigan – Unranked Dearborn Fordson handed Livonia Stevenson its second straight loss Thursday, and with a 2-0 victory the Tractors take over first place in the eight-school KLAA-East Division.

Fordson avenged an earlier defeat by the hands of the Spartans, who defeated the Tractors 2-1 back on Aug. 26.

Senior Bashar Othman and sophomore Waleed Alhiyafi scored for Fordson (8-1-2, 8-1-1), which now has 25 league points. Mido Mahmoud Assi drew an assist and senior goalkeeper Rayan Ghadieh snared the shutout between the pipes for Fordson.

The Tractors own a 48-6 scoring edge this season and all four of their wins in a four-game win streak have been shutouts. It was the seventh shutout overall for Fordson.

During the recent win streak, the Tractors have outscored the opposition 22-0.

UTICA 2, ROMEO 1: Utica graduated 17 players from its 2023 roster, forcing Utica into reloading most of its starting lineup and rotation players this season. That still didn’t prevent the Chieftains from posting a huge upset Thursday night. Utica rallied from a 1-0 deficit to down Romero in MAC-Red Division play, defeating a Division Top 15 ranked school for the first time this season. After trailing 1-0 early, Jack Ladue one-timed a cross from Brandon Chunchick to level the score at 1-1. Luke Rowoldt netted the game-winner late in the second half with a close-range goal by the far post. Luca Vano recorded the win in goal and amongst his saves was a breakaway save with the game tied for Utica (5-4-2, 2-3-0).

ROCHESTER ADAMS 8, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 0: Notre Dame commit Alex Rosin netted two goals and assisted on two others to pace the Division 1 seventh-ranked Highlanders to the OAA crossover road win. Anthony Piacentini, Anthony Page, Dario Cusmano, Cameron Pycz, Will Kelly and Yasir Hamdan also had single tallies for Adams (8-1-3). Reid Dennis and Sam Beach shared the shutout in goal.

ROCKFORD 2, GRAND HAVEN 1: Rockford grabbed the important OKC-Red Division win Thursday over the host Buccaneers. Senior forward Dugan Black scored both goals for the Rams. Rockford (8-2-2, 5-1-0) now owns 15 points in the OKC-Red standings and sits ahead of Hudsonville (3-0-3, 12 points) and East Kentwood (3-2-1, 10 points) in the now-six school division.

PORTAGE CENTRAL 3, PORTAGE NORTHERN 0: Aiden Phenicie scored two goals and the Division 1 top-ranked Mustangs moved to 12-0-1 on the season with the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference victory. Gavan Sherman also scored and Max Bailey picked up an assist off his cornerkick, which Phenicie headed home for the third goal. Gunnar Thorhallsso notched the shutout for Portage Central, the team’s seventh in 13 games. Portage Central has now outscored the opposition 57-4 and is now riding an 11-game win streak and a 13-game unbeaten streak to start the season.

HOLT 0, EAST LANSING 0: Holt and East Lansing battled to a scoreless draw in CAAC-Blue Division play Thursday in East Lansing. Holt finishes league season with a 3-2-1 record, securing at least a piece of third place depending on results from the final matchday of league next week. The Rams were picked fourth out of seven teams in the league but will at least finish third. CJ Sampson made eight saves as the Rams are now 7-4-2 overall on the season.

ANN ARBOR SKYLINE 1, ANN ARBOR HURON 1: These two SEC-Red Division foes squared off for the second time in less than a week and walked off the pitch with a 1-1 stalemate. Shea Parker scored for Skyline.

GRAYLING 12, CHEBOYGAN 0: Three years ago, Cheboygan defeated Grayling in a non-conference game. Now that the two northern Michigan schools are in the same new league together, the Northern Shores Conference, the Vikings put up some big numbers on Thursday night to move to 11-0-0 on the season – believed to be the fastest start in program history. Gibsen Barnett scored four goals and Brett Peterson added three goals before Grayling began to sub in non-starters and some junior-varsity players to gain them some varsity experience. The Vikings now own a 59-1 scoring edge this season.

PONTIAC NOTRE DAME PREP 4, ALMONT 2: Notre Dame Prep moved to 13-1-0 on the season by doubling up the Raiders in a non-conference game. Edziu Lis, Danny Lebanion, Will Lanham and Sanchez Montalvo scored the goals for the Irish.

ITHACA 6, DURAND 2: Tanner Lamey led the way with two goals and an assist, as the Yellowjackets buzzed the Railroaders in a non-conference game. Luis Gustavo had a goal and an assist, Wylie Martyn, Jaren Paradise and Michael Goldsmith also scored and Brady Paradise picked up an assist in the win. Griffin Mercy made three saves in five chances for Ithaca.

TEMPERANCE STATE LINE CHRISTIAN 5, FREMONT (OHIO) TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 1: State Line dipped down into Ohio for a non-league opponent and came away with the 5-1 victory. Cooper Worley led the way with a pair of goals for the Patriots.

BUCHANAN 8, COLOMA 1: The Bucks outshot the Comets 43-3 overall and 19-2 with shots on goal and came away with the lopsided non-conference win. Six different players scored for Buchanan, led by a pair by a three-goal outburst by Easton May and a team-leading 12th goal of the season by Mason Frontczak. The Bucks now own a 33-8 scoring edge this season.

SALEM 3, HARTLAND 1: Tyler Varesh, Jack Freeman and Bryan Baker scored goals and Salem came away with the 3-1 KLAA-West Division win Thursday. Salem improved to 7-5-1 and 6-3-1 in league play. Hartland slips to 4-5-2 overall and 3-4-2 in conference play and have been outscored 13-2 during a three-game losing streak.

ROCHESTER 3, FARMINGTON 1: Rochester stepped out of OAA-Red play to topple Farmington Thursday in the battle of Falcons. Isaac Wood, Chase Foster and Jacob Nimmoor scored the goals for the Falcons (6-5-0), who are 6-0-0 in non-league games where they have a 38-6 scoring edge outside of the powerful OAA-Red.

TROY 8, FENTON 1: The Colts regrouped after dropping their first game of the season on Tuesday with this non-conference rout on Thursday of Fenton. Troy (7-1-0) had a multitude of goal scorers and have now outscored the opposition 21-5 in eight games.

BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 5, ROCHESTER STONEY CREEK 0: Seaholm stepped out of OAA-Red Division play to record this 5-0 shutout of OAA-White Division member Stoney Creek.

KALAMAZOO LOY-NORRIX 1, STEVENSVILLE LAKESHORE 1: These two SMAC rivals battled to a stalemate Thursday in Kalamazoo. Loy-Norrix moved to 10-1-1 on the season and 5-1-1 in league play.

Michigan-based Premier Media Group is expanding ... don't miss out on coverage

SHELBY TWP., Mich. – The Premier Media Group is expanding its broadcast net.

And we want you.

The Michigan-based PMG, founded in 2022, its flagship production the Michigan Soccer Network and all other affiliates, is actively scheduling games in a wide variety of high school leagues and conferences, small colleges, amateur, pre-professional, youth club, and other avenues of the beautiful game in Michigan.

The schedule for the fall semester is starting to fill up across Michigan.

The daily connections are being made and the spreading of our brand has brought in great reviews.

Would the coaches, administration, student-athletes, players and fans like for us to broadcast a game near you?

Regardless of the now-popular remote broadcast games, on-location broadcast games, on-location shows or in-studio daily shows, there is a simple process. Visit the website www.michigansoccernetwork.com or click below for details.

PMG will also be holding various “Win A Free Broadcast” contest at various parts of the fall, winter (indoor) and spring seasons.

"(Michigan Soccer Network) has does a great job making these kids feel special,” offered Michal Hatfield, girls soccer coach at Trenton High School who also coaches in the Detroit City FC youth club system. “The broadcasts were professionally done and we were very pleased when they did our games. They did a great job with (play-by-play), graphics and postgame interviews with the kids. And a lot of people saw it. We had uncles and aunts that have never seen their nieces play get a chance to watch them on YouTube). And all of the kids were able to jump on there (the YouTube channel) afterwards and watch the game.”

The MSN staff had the pleasure of broadcasting multiple games the last two school years for schools in the Oakland Activities Association and have received its fair share of feedback. The goal is to conduct broadcasts of games throughout the state of Michigan, especially in the larger populated regions.

“MSN has done a great job with broadcasts in our league (Macomb Area Conference),” said Trevor Foster, current head coach of the Romeo girls soccer program, goalkeepers coach for Oakland University’s soccer programs, and director at the Michigan Goalkeepers Academy. “I know the girls love it. And I know some of the parents were putting their earphones on and listening to the game when they were (in the stands) and it gives relatives a chance to watch games that they normally wouldn’t be able to.

“It’s as close to professional (broadcast) as any broadcast of high school soccer that you will see out there,” added Foster. “Plus, they do all types of (amateur and pre-professional) leagues out there (in Michigan).”

“We were very pleased, especially with the knowledge of high school soccer in the state of Michigan from the play-by-play announcers and color commentators,” said Todd Heugh, the current director of athletics at Troy Athens High School and a former coach at the school. “They put together a valuable (product) and the games are live on YouTube for everyone to watch, even if you are (a relative or an alumni) not in the area. I know coaches go on there (YouTube), too, to watch games of an upcoming opponent.”

The PMG staff has a goal of 100-plus games this fall from mid-August through November. The Michigan Soccer Network conducted a record 50 remote or in-person broadcasts during the month of June.

PMG also has contacts within Michigan, the Midwest and even in different parts of the U.S. and have become broadcast partners for more than 15 different leagues or franchises within those leagues over the past three years. PMG has multiple broadcasting rights for within the USL-League Two, USL-W League, UPSL, MWPL, NISA, WSPL and more and constantly expanding its web of coverage both on various YouTube channels and on our website at www.michigansoccernetwork.com. It has broadcasted more high school boys soccer and high school girls soccer at more than 75 high schools in Michigan.

“MSN has been a great media partner for the Bucks and AFC,” said Costa Papista, President of the Flint City Bucks and Flint City AFC of the USL-League Two and USL-W League, respectively. “The production and overall quality of our live broadcasts are professional grade. Flint City fans, sponsors and supporters greatly appreciate the MSN quality. We are always receiving excellent feedback and comments from our fans and visiting fans as well.”

And now the busy season starts in earnest with high school, college and youth club team beginning the 2024-25 school year.
