SATURDAY’S PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Oxford blanks Traverse City West; Rochester Adams stuns Dow; Mona Shores records 13th win

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Oxford recorded its second straight shutout on a northern Michigan trip and came away with a 4-0 victory over host Traverse City West in a non-conference victory which secured at least a first-round bye in the upcoming MHSSA Division 1 districts.

The Wildcats went all-Boyd in this match as sisters combined for all four tallies for Oxford. Senior Ella Boyd had two goals and an assists while sophomore Maddy Boyd also scored two goals to lead the Wildcats.

Korinne Ihrke notched the shutout for Oxford (9-6-1), which now has four clean sheets on the campaign.

ROCHESTER ADAMS 5, MIDLAND DOW 0: Adams handed Dow its first loss of the season in this non-league contest featuring two top-15 ranked teams in Division 1. Evi Kekhoua netted the hattrick for the Highlanders, while Morgan Muir and Cat Delikat also scored for Adams (8-2-2), which notched its second straight shutout and fifth clean sheet of the campaign. The Highlanders have outscored their opposition 36-8 this season and 33-2 in non-conference matchups.

MUSKEGON MONA SHORES 2, GRANDVILLE 1: The Sailors stepped out of OKC-Green Division play to earn the OKC crossover win. Shay Norden scored both goals and Ella Kinney and Lilly Houle had the assists for Mona Shores (13-2-2), who host Zeeland East Tuesday in the OKC-Green Division Tournament semifinals. Jersey VanderWall stopped one of two shots and Ava Freye, Amelia Coffin, Emma Anderson and Katie Phillips had solid defensive games.

ROCHESTER 2, OKEMOS 1: It was senior night for Rochester, but it was freshmen who stole the show and scored the goals for the Falcons. Lucia Erracalde and Ally Jeric had the goals and Alice Max collected the win in goal for Rochester (9-5-2).
