SATURDAY’S PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Essexville-Garber blanks Alma; Dexter upends rival Chelsea; Midland Dow edges Holt
ESSEXVILLE, Mich. – Ciara Kelly Netted a hattrick and Essexville-Garber rang up an 8-0 Tri-Valley Conference Red Division victory over Alma.
Avery Nearman added two goals for the Dukes, while Emma Kelly had a goal and two assists. Olivia Aguirre (one assist), Carly Arnold and Natalie Fodrey also scored for Garber (2-0-0, 2-0-0), which outscored the opposition 12-1 heading into the Bay County Tournament.
Brooke Hahn picked up three assists, Ella Betzhold drew two assists and Fodrey notched the shutout between the pipes for Garber.
DEXTER 3, CHELSEA 1: Dexter took this round in the rival game between the two neighboring towns west of Ann Arbor. Brynn Fitch recorded the brace and Sasha Jones added the other goal for the Dreadnaughts. Laci Jernigan, Ellea Graybill and Kendall Cabana had assists in the SEC crossover victory.
MIDLAND DOW 1, HOLT 0: The Chargers stepped out of the Saginaw Valley League Saturday to defeat CAAC-blue Division member Holt in this shutout win. Melanie Kolnitys scored the goal and Avery Lahman notched the clean sheet for Dow.
TROY ATHENS 0, MACOMB DAKOTA 0: OAA Red Division member Athens and MAC Red Division member Dakota decided nothing in this non-conference matchup.
