PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP: Trenton, Athens, Seaholm, Eisenhower, Marshall all register impressive wins
GIBRALTAR, Mich. – Any team that faces Trenton this season must again deal with Chloe Wishart and Claire Gonyea. The two were simply on the offensive Wednesday evening.
Both had multiple points in Trenton’s 6-0 victory over Gibraltar Carlson. It was the season and Downriver League opener for both teams.
Wishart led the offensive barrage with four goals while Gonyea drew assists on five of the six goals for the Trojans (1-0-0, 1-0-0).
TROY ATHENS 5, LAPEER 0: Athens continued its hot start as one of the top teams in the state, posting its second straight shutout. Lauren DeJonckheere had two goals to lead the way, while Lulu Thaqi, Emily Mendrick and Sydney McBride also scored for the Red Hawks. Thaqi added two assists and Medrick and McBride also picked up helpers in the non-league contest.
BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 7, WATERFORD MOTT 0: Sam Sickenger and Paige Green both finished with two goals with one assist and the Maples stood tall in the non-conference victory.
UTICA EISENHOWER 9, GROSSE POINTE SOUTH 1: Ellera Jakubowski and Maryn Smith both recorded hat tricks and the Eagles soared to the MAC crossover win. Ava Dukaj scored twice, Sam Losh added a tally and Julia Aniel added three assists for Eisenhower.

MARSHALL 1, EAST LANSING 0: Addison Waito scored the goal to pace Marshall to the non-league win. Aly Zalewski recorded the shutout for the Redhawks.
BIRCH RUN 7, CORUNNA 1: Sydney Fox was on the hunt Wednesday in this non-league affair, as she scored five goals and assisted on another for Birch Run.
GRAYLING 5, HOUGHTON LAKE 0: Edith Boik scored twice and the Vikings notched the non-league victory to open the season. Quincy Sterling added a goal and an assist and Molly Wright and Olivia Duba also scored for Grayling. Emma Kuziel notched the shutout in goal.
