PREP GIRLS SOCCER ROUNDUP Northville finishes unbeaten at Falcons Friendlies



ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Northville didn’t surrender a goal and came away with a 2-0-1 record Saturday at the Rochester Falcons Friendlies.

Each game was split into two 25-minute halves and Northville was the sole school to walk away without a loss on the marathon day.

In the final contest of the afternoon, Northville took down Rochester 2-0 in a rematch of the 2022 Division 1 state semifinals, which the Mustangs won 2-1.

Senior Helena McLellan, an All-State First Team selection a year ago, scored both goals for the Mustangs (6-5-2). Simran Magnan recorded the shutout.

SALEM 3, LAKE ORION 1: Lake Orion scored first, but Salem responded with three unanswered goals during the round-robin tournament at Rochester.

NORTHVILLE 0, WARREN REGINA 0: KLAA-West Division member Northville and CHSL-Central Division member Regina battled to a scoreless draw Saturday at Rochester.

LAKE ORION 2, ROCHESTER 0: Lake Orion avenged a loss in last year’s Division 1 district semifinals with this win in the second round of Rochester Falcons Friendlies.

SALEM 1, WARREN REGINA 0: Division 1 state-ranked Salem rebounded from an earlier loss to Rochester by earning this narrow win over Regina at the Falcons Friendlies. Regina is ranked in Division 3.

ROCHESTER 1, SALEM 0: Rochester opened the morning with this 1-0 triumph over Salem.

NORTHVILLE 1, LAKE ORION 0: Northville opened up the Falcons Friendlies Saturday with this narrow win over Lake Orion.

OTHER GAMES

HUDSONVILLE 2, KALAMAZOO LOY-NORRIX 0: The Eagles, the top-ranked team in Division 1, remained unbeaten on the year with this non-conference shutout of Loy-Norrix. Hudsonville improved to 6-0-1 and have now outscored its opposition 26-1 with six shutouts, including four straight.

TROY 1, BRIGHTON 0: State-ranked Troy slipped past Brighton Saturday in this non-league affair. Olivia Jasniewicz scored for the Colts and Sophia Peronis recorded the shutout. Troy moved to 8-0-2 on the year and have now recorded four shutouts and outscored its foes 27-7.

PINCKNEY 1, WILLIAMSTON 0: Zaryah Griffin scored and Peyton Delongchamp notched the shutout Saturday for the Pirates (6-1-2), who posted their fourth straight clean sheet and sixth overall. Pinckney now owns a 37-3 scoring edge this season.

BAY CITY WESTERN 2, GAYLORD 0: Bay City Western stepped out of SVL conference play and recorded this non-league win Saturday over the Blue Devils. The Warriors improved to 9-2-1 with their seventh shutout of the season.

PLAINWELL 5, WAYLAND UNION 0: Plainwell capped a week of three wins, three clean sheets and a 22-0 scoring edge in six days. The Tigers improved to 8-1-1 and won their seventh straight match and all via shutout.

ALPENA 4, BAY CITY CENTRL 0: The Wildcats e up the Sunrise Side Challenge Cup with this shutout win Saturday morning.

ALPENA 7, HAZEL PARK 0: Alpena had no problems rolling past Hazel Park in the second robin contest of the day at the Wildcats’ Sunrise Side Challenge Cup

ALPENA 8, BEAVERTON 0: Alpena dispatched first-year program Beaverton at the annual Sunrise Side Challenge Cup.

ALPENA 2, SAULT STE MARIE 0: Host Alpena ended the day with this third shutout at the Sunrise Side Challenge Cup. The Wildcats are now 6-4-1 on the year.

BROOKLYN COLUMBIA CENTRAL 3, ONSTED 0: The Golden Eagles recorded this win in the first round of the Onsted Invitational Saturday.

BROOKLYN COLUMBIA CENTRAL 3, DUNDEE 0: Columbia Central recorded its second shutout of the day and captured the crown at the four-school Onsted Invitational. The Golden Eagles notched their fifth shutout of the campaign and oved to 5-4-1 on the season.
