GIBRALTAR, Mich. – It took five different goal scorers for Grosse Ile to defeat its neighbor.

The Red Devils picked up goals from Morgan Kwaitkowski, Aubrey Korody, Alaina Korody, Allie Stefan and Olivia Zucarro in a 5-0 shutout of host Gibraltar Carlson Friday night.

Monica Arndt notched the shutout for Grosse Ile, which finished 17-3-4 last season and was the Division 3 state runner-up. The Red Devils opened the season earlier in the week with a 5-0 loss to Saline, which reached the Division 1 Final Four a year ago.

CHELSEA 3, DEXTER 2: For Chelsea, good things come in threes. As in hat tricks. Christina Roberts netted all three goals Friday night to pace the Tigers over neighboring rivals Dexter in a Southeastern Conference crossover match.

HART 8, BENZONIA BENZIE CENTRAL 0:Hart opened up the season Friday with this shutout of visiting Benzie Central. Lilliana Mena and Natalie Rosema both scored twice to lead the Pirates. Sydney Goodrich, Addison Kokx, Payton Lindgren and Brooklyn Storms also scored. Devyn Adams recorded two assists with Kokx, Brianna Arjona and Olivia Bradley notching single assists for Hart in this non-league contest.

KALAMAZOO HACKETT CATHOLIC PREP 9, CONSTANTINE 1: Addie Smucker led the way for the Irish with a four-goals performance. Natalie Burhans added three goals and Victoria Ivens netted a brace for Hackett. It was the Southwestern Athletic Conference-Valley Division and season opener for both teams.

STERLING HEIGHTS STEVENSON 5, CLAWSON 1: Steven picked up a hattrick from Presley Jones and the Titans downed Clawson in MAC crossover action. Presley added an assist for good measure and both Ava McGowan and Lilly Kulczycki scored a goal for Stevenson. Diana Marku notched the win in goal for the Titans.

WHITE LAKE LAKELAND 2, HOLLY 1:Lakeland got the best of Holly in this non-conference matchup Friday night.

TRENTON 3, RIVERVIEW 0: After a scoreless first half between rivals in the annual Cancer Awareness game, Trenton erupted for three second-half goals to defeat Riverview in a Huron League-Downriver League crossover. Chloe Wishart banged home a cross from Avery Schultz in the 45th minute, which proved to be the game winner. In the 71st minute, Claire Gonyea finished off a pass from Audrey Gerou and in the 80th minute Wishart capped off the scoring of an assist from Maddie Reamer. The backline play Kira Johnson, Lilly Mulford, Miya Severino and Elle Goldson was sterling in front of goalkeeper Leila Gorno, who notched her second clean sheet of the season for the Trojans (2-0-0).
