The state finals will feature the U-19, U-18, U-17, U-16, U-15 and U-14 divisions with teams competing in the MSYSA state tournaments over the last month in both the MSYSA Elite Division and MSYSA Premier Division.

Dates, sites and times of the USYS regional and national tournaments will be released at a later date.
There are over 230 different clubs of various sizes that field teams from recreational levels up to high-end club teams and feature several hundred teams in one of the entered the 2024 MSYSA State Cup tournament from across the state. Girls club teams from Michigan that compete in the Girls Academy or ECNL do not compete in the State Cup tournaments under the MSYSA and USYS, while boys soccer teams from the MLS Next Academy and ECNL also do not compete in the State Cup championships in the spring months.

BREAKDOWN
The Elite Division of State Cup is the top division. This division is intended for teams that participate in any multi-state regional or national league (Elite-64, Elite 64-Regional League, NLC, NAL and others) and some Great Lakes Premier League teams. Other teams may be considered to fill open spots in brackets. U13 – U18/U19 teams in the Elite division will be competing to earn spots at the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Midwest Regional Championships and potentially USYS National Championships.
The Premier Division of State Cup is the second division. This division is intended for teams that participate in leagues primarily contained to Michigan such as the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program and local select leagues. Other teams including teams from the Great Lakes Premier League may be considered in order to fill open spots in brackets. U13 – U18/U19 teams in the Premier Division will be competing to earn spots at the US Youth Soccer Midwest President’s Cup and potentially National President’s Cup next summer.
Ultimately, division placement is at the discretion of the MSYSA State Cup Committee. However, regardless of division placement, each team can expect to play 3 or 4 self-scheduled preliminary games. Teams who do well will advance to the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and then eventually the Finals.
The U14–U18/U19 Girls teams participate in the Fall State Cup. U13 Girls and U13–U18/U19 Boys teams participate in the Spring State Cup.
