OUTLOOK / NOTABLES / COACHES COMMENTS: After winning the first nine MACS state titles in girls soccer (!997-205), the Eagles have only won one title since (2010). This year Davison Faith Baptist returns a bulk of its roster and should challenge in the Wolverine Christian Conference and also in the MACS state tournament.

SCHOOL: Rochester Hills Christian

HEAD COACH: Paula Bronsing

2022 OVERALL RECORD / LEAGUE RECORD / LEAGUE FINISH: 11-1-1, 5-0-1 Wolverine Christian Conference (first)

2022 STATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Def. Clinton Township Faith Christian (5-0); def. Davison Faith Baptist (4-1); lost to Troy Bethany Christian (2-0) in the MACS state title game.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SEASONS: None

STATE RUNNER-UP SEASONS: 2019, 2021, 2022

RETURNING STARTERS: Alexis Slota, sr. M/F/G (three-time All-League; three-time League MVP; signed with Spring Arbor, the 2022 NAIA national champions); Jules Oja, sr. M/F (All-League Honorable Mention); McKenzie Thompson, jr. M; Betty Walker, jr. M; Ava Jones, jr. CB; Katie Walker, soph. CB; Katlyn Jones, fr. M; Ashley Clark, sr. D (injured, may be out for the year)

OTHER KEY RETURNEES: Alyssa Ertzbischoff, fr. G; Noelle Jeffries, 8th G

KEY NEWCOMERS: Bella Klee, 7th F; Lily Jones, 7th D/M; Elise Herminga, 7th D/M

OUTLOOK / NOTABLES / COACHES COMMENTS: The Eagles only graduated three starters but have one of their three seniors out of the lineup with an injury. Rochester Hills Christian is trying to defend its Wolverine Christian Conference league title this season and has split with longtime nemesis Troy Bethany Christian. RHC has finished as the state runner-up in the MACS state tournament three straight times in 2019, 2021 and 2022 (the season was cancelled statewide in 2020) and each of those setbacks was to Bethany Christian. After competing in the MACS girls soccer state tournament each year from 1997-2022, the Eagles may shift to the newly-created Michigan Christian Schools Athletic Association state tournament if enough schools enroll in the postseason there. Player-wide, senior Alexis Slota is trying to become not only a rare four-time All-League player but also a very rare four-time League MVP.

SCHOOL: Troy Bethany Christian

HEAD COACH: Phillip Fougere, first season

2022 OVERALL RECORD / LEAGUE RECORD / LEAGUE FINISH: 8-4-0, 3-3-0 Wolverine Christian Conference (third)

2022 STATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Def. Carson City Fellowship Baptist (5-0); def. Vassar Juniata Christian (3-0); def. Rochester Hills Christian (2-0) in the MACS state title match for its third straight state title.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SEASONS: 2009, 2019, 2021, 2022

STATE RUNNER-UP SEASONS: 2015, 2016

RETURNING STARTERS:

OTHER KEY RETURNEES:

KEY NEWCOMERS:

OUTLOOK / NOTABLES / COACHES COMMENTS: The Bruins are coming off a third straight MACS state title from 2019, 2021, 2022 (there was no season in 2020) and fourth overall dating back to 2009. Troy Bethany has reached the MACS state title game five times in the last eight seasons and six times over the past 14 campaigns. The Bruins are one of the top teams in the MACS once again with a seasoned lineup and should contend with Rochester Hills Christian for the Wolverine Christian Conference this season after finishing second in the league standings in 2022 to RHC.
