God closes doors that we won’t close ourselves…and opens two more 🚪🚪
I had a good 22+ year run with 14 championships as a player, assistant and head coach; including one this Fall & a Coach of the Year Award, but all good things must come to an end…I will Rise again one day soon🙏
In the short term I’m going to focus on my mental health that I have struggled with mightily since my Mom passed away in December 2021.
It’s important that everyone realize the importance of mental health, as much as physical health, especially in men and extra especially in athletics. If we, as coaches, are entrusted to take care of the mental health of our student-athletes, it’s important that our mental health as coaches, leaders and mentors is looked after and made a priority.
Thanks to the huge outpouring of support from my family, friends, loved ones; my players, recruits, alums, and coaching colleagues at Oakland; as well as my fellow college coaches, the soccer community, the Oakland community and the Eric community❤️
Stay tuned, I’ll have more to say on this soon⏳
