CHARLESTON, S.C. – For Aidan Orth and Alex Rosin, it’s time to represent.
Two of Michigan’s top high school boys soccer players have been selected for the 14th Annual High School Boys Soccer All-American Game, which will take place at Charleston (S.C.) Wando High School on Dec. 14.
The annual showcase game features some of the nation’s elite boys high school soccer players from fall boys soccer playing states and four of the nation's elite coaches. Players and coaches will arrive on Dec. 12 and will take place in team trainings, team activities and press conferences. These players have achieved many state, regional and national awards and will attend some of the top universities across the country.
There were more than a dozen candidates this season from Michigan and Orth and Rosin were selected to compete for the West All-Stars Team. There are 40 selections each year, with 20 competing for the West All-Stars and 20 players for the East All-Stars.
Orth was a 3.75-year starter for Traverse City West, where he led the Titans to four consecutive Big North Conference and four straight Division 1 district titles as well as post a 69-11-6 overall record, a 38-1-1 league record, 42 shutouts and outscore the opposition 357-66 during the last four years.
Orth, who was an Mr. Soccer candidate this season, became the school’s fourth All-State Dream Team selection since Traverse City West opened back in 1997. He is a member of the OPD National Team and Midwest Regional Team in his age group, is a three-time All-Big North Conference, All-District, All-Region and All-Area honoree, a three-time All-State player in Division 1, including two-time All-State First Team, and a first-time All-State Dream Team and Offensive Player of the Year in Division 1, as selected by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association.
He finished with 27 goals and 13 assists (67 points) this season and 75 goals and 43 assists (193 points) in his stellar prep career. Orth is being recruited by NCAA Division I schools Western Illinois University, Eastern Illinois University, Oakland University and Purdue University-Fort Wayne, NCAA Division II Purdue-Northwest University and NCAA Division III Calvin University amongst others.
The TBAYS North Storm club soccer standout will travel down to the Grand Rapids (Mich.) area this winter and spring to compete for the Michigan Rangers of the National League/Elite-64 club soccer levels.
Alex Rosin is a first-time high school player who had spent the last several years competing solely for the Vardar MLS Next Academy team in his age group dating back to middle school. He is considered a top 100 prospect in the country in his age group with an impressive soccer resume.
In his lone high school season, Rosin led Rochester Adams to its third Division 1 state championship in school history and second in three seasons. He also helped Adams spark an impressive 18-2-4 record in 2024 while playing one of the state’s most challenging schedules. His older brother Luke Rosin played on the 2022 state championship team with Alex Rosin up in the stands watching inventively.
The 2024 Michigan Mr. Soccer award winner, the 51st selection for the prestigious honor made each year by the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association, collected 15 goals and 20 assists for 50 points this season rotating between forward, attacking midfielder and outside marking back. He plays mostly marking back on the club and MLS Next Academy circuits and is projected as an outside back in college.
As Mr. Soccer, Rosin was also listed on the MIHSSCA All-State Dream Team (watch reveal show here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JuhYeI3BkA ) and the Division 1 All-State First Team along with Orth on that 18-member squad.
He has committed to the University of Notre Dame where he will continue his career in the NCAA Division I college soccer ranks. The Irish were the 2023 national runner-up and have one of the top incoming classes for the fall 2025 campaign.
Rosin, who earned numerous postseason honors and was invited to multiple high-level ID camps and all-star games during his MLS Next Academy career with Vardar, had opportunities in the past to compete for the Columbus Crew MLS Youth Academy and compete for FC Bayern Munich (Germany) for a single school year, but opted to stay home to compete for Vardar in the past and for his high school for just one season in 2024. He will graduate early in December and head to South Bend, Indiana, in January to start training with the Irish and take college classes after the first of the year.
Both Orth and Rosin were also voted All-Conference, All-District and All-Region this past season along with being named Division 1 All-State First Team.
