MARQUETTE, Mich. – Jaxon Buckley scored his 100th career goal and for good measure added his 101th and 102nd career tallies Tuesday for good measure.

That helped Kingsford earn a fourth straight victory over host and arch-rival Marquette in a Greater Northern U.P. Conference battle over the Sentinels in an unexpected 5-0 route.

Kingsford beat Marquette three times last season and all three were close games.

Not this time around.

Buckley, a senior forward/midfielder and a top-50 prospect in Michigan, netted the hattrick for the unbeaten Flivvers (6-0-0) and now has 15 goals in six games for Kingsford, ranked No. 7 in Division 3. He is the reigning U.P. Player of the Year and was All-District, All-Region and All-State Third Team last season.

Sophomore midfielder Jett Buckley and senior midfielder Jonah Nelson also scored for Kingsford, while junior Landon Adam recorded the clean sheet in goal for the Flivvers, who have now outscored the opposition 26-2 this season.

AUBURN HILLS OAKLAND CHRISTIAN 9, MADISON HEIGHTS BISHOP FOLEY 1: Tommy Seidel rang up the scoreboard five times as Oakland Christian rolled over last year’s Division 4 state runner-up Bishop Foley in a non-conference game. Daniel Ermshler also got caught in the scoring act with a goal and two assists, followed by a goal and assist from Cayden Veyna, Luke Ryes (two assists), Elias Cengeri (assist), Blake Martin (assist). Foley also knocked two goals into the back of its own net. Carson Goetz notched four saves for the Lancers to record the win in net. Foley graduated 11 of its top 12 players from last year’s team.

ANN ARBOR SKYLINE 6, TEMPERANCE-BEDFORD 0: Shea Parker continued his torrid pace with two more goals and an assist as the Eagles cruised to the Southeastern Conference-Red Division win. Angel Verael drew two assists, while Fletcher Kierce, Ian Dyer, Adam Repp and Lucas Webb all scored one goal apiece and Jacob Carbone had one assist for Skyline.

GRAND RAPIDS WEST CATHOLIC 2, WAYLAND UNION 0: Sean Boonstra opened the scoring off an assist from Landon Smith in the 29th minute and Smith headed home a cross from Mason Marcotte in the 68th minute to aid the win. Elliott Plum earned the clean sheet in goal.

ZEELAND EAST 0, HOLLAND 0: These two OKC-Green rivals and Division 2 state-ranked teams settled little in this draw Tuesday night.

OXFORD 3, FLINT POWERS CATHOLIC 2: Three different players scored goals for Oxford in this non-conference win over the Chargers. Drew Cady, Ryan Clark and Ryan Pietsch scored for Oxford (6-0-1), ranked in the top-15 in Division 1. Leo Stravato had a goal and an assist for Powers Catholic, ranked in the top-15 in Division 3.

BUCHANAN 1, BERRIEN SPRINGS 1: These two Lakeland Conference foes battle to the draw Tuesday night. Caden McMahan scored in the 19th minute off a cross from Jacob Kuntz to give Buchanan (3-1-1, 0-0-1) the early lead. Kevin Silva tied the game in the 79th minute for Berrien Springs (1-2-1, 0-0-1). Charley Cowart made four saves for Buchanan.

HOLT 2, GRAND LEDGE 1: Junior Josh Moore nets his first varsity career goal off a rebound following a shot by Furaha Djumbe in the 28th minute and Carrick Christiensen converted a penalty kick in the 40th minute for Holt, which is off to one of its best starts in recent history and is 7-2-1 in its last 10 meetings with Grand Ledge.  Senior CJ Sampson made 12 saves in the win.

DEARBORN FORDSON 2, DEARBORN 2: These two city and KLAA-East Division rivals settled little on the pitch Tuesday. Fordson scored twice in the final five minutes to earn the tie. Bashar Othman netted a penalty kick goal and Mahmoud Assi drilled a free kick in as the Tractors scored the two late goals to forge the tie.

TEMPERANCE STATE LINE CHRISTIAN 5, WATERFORD LAKECREST BAPTIST 0: It has been the Cooper Worley show the last couple of games for the Patriots, who put up a five-spot on one of its rivals, Lakecrest Baptist. Worley, a senior, scored three goals in the shutout and it marked the second straight game that Worley has netted a hattrick in a contest.

SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 8, REDFORD THURSTON 1: Trey Ehlen scored three goals and added two assists as the Eagles rolled to the non-league win Tuesday. Andrew Harris added two goals, while Jonathan Vasser, Trevor Groh and Kenyan Baker all added singles tallies. Tavon Banker and Liam Baligian added single assists, while Trevor Groh and Justin Matthews combined for eight saves in the win. Redford Thurston brought back soccer this year after a several-year hiatus.

ROCHESTER ADAMS 4, ROCHESTER 0: Division 1 fourth-ranked Rochester Adams put up a four-spot on Rochester Tuesday night in OAA-Red Division play. Adams is now 4-0-2 overall and 2-0-0 in league play. The Highlanders’ Reid Dennis notched his team’s fourth shutout of the season for Adams, which owns a 15-2 scoring edge to open the season.

MONROE 3, ANN ARBOR PIONEER 2: The Trojans picked up the rare conference win over Pioneer in Southeastern Conference-Red Division play Tuesday.

BYRON CENTER 3, MUSKEGON REETHS-PUFFER 1: Byron Center was moved from the OKC-White Division over to the OKC-Green Division this summer and the Bulldogs have taken control of this league so far this season. Bryon Center moved to 7-0-0 overall on the campaign and 3-0-0 in conference play and have now outscored the opposition 30-5 this season.

LIVONIA FRANKLIN 4, BELLEVILLE 1: Wyatt Egan netted two goals with an assist as the Patriots recorded the KLAA-East Division win.

BIRMINGHAM SEAHOLM 3, NOVI DETROIT CATHOLIC CENTRAL 2: Drew Stice netted the game-winner in the second half for unranked Seaholm against Division 1 No. 10-ranked Detroit Catholic Central.

SALEM 1, NOVI 0: Bryan Baker scored the goal and Cooper Austin recorded the clean sheet for Salem.

Michigan-based Premier Media Group is expanding ... don't miss out on coverage

SHELBY TWP., Mich. – The Premier Media Group is expanding its broadcast net.

And we want you.

The Michigan-based PMG, founded in 2022, its flagship production the Michigan Soccer Network and all other affiliates, is actively scheduling games in a wide variety of high school leagues and conferences, small colleges, amateur, pre-professional, youth club, and other avenues of the beautiful game in Michigan.

The schedule for the fall semester is starting to fill up across Michigan.

The daily connections are being made and the spreading of our brand has brought in great reviews.

Would the coaches, administration, student-athletes, players and fans like for us to broadcast a game near you?

Regardless of the now-popular remote broadcast games, on-location broadcast games, on-location shows or in-studio daily shows, there is a simple process. Visit the website www.michigansoccernetwork.com or click below for details.

PMG will also be holding various “Win A Free Broadcast” contest at various parts of the fall, winter (indoor) and spring seasons.

"(Michigan Soccer Network) has does a great job making these kids feel special,” offered Michal Hatfield, girls soccer coach at Trenton High School who also coaches in the Detroit City FC youth club system. “The broadcasts were professionally done and we were very pleased when they did our games. They did a great job with (play-by-play), graphics and postgame interviews with the kids. And a lot of people saw it. We had uncles and aunts that have never seen their nieces play get a chance to watch them on YouTube). And all of the kids were able to jump on there (the YouTube channel) afterwards and watch the game.”

The MSN staff had the pleasure of broadcasting multiple games the last two school years for schools in the Oakland Activities Association and have received its fair share of feedback. The goal is to conduct broadcasts of games throughout the state of Michigan, especially in the larger populated regions.

“MSN has done a great job with broadcasts in our league (Macomb Area Conference),” said Trevor Foster, current head coach of the Romeo girls soccer program, goalkeepers coach for Oakland University’s soccer programs, and director at the Michigan Goalkeepers Academy. “I know the girls love it. And I know some of the parents were putting their earphones on and listening to the game when they were (in the stands) and it gives relatives a chance to watch games that they normally wouldn’t be able to.

“It’s as close to professional (broadcast) as any broadcast of high school soccer that you will see out there,” added Foster. “Plus, they do all types of (amateur and pre-professional) leagues out there (in Michigan).”

“We were very pleased, especially with the knowledge of high school soccer in the state of Michigan from the play-by-play announcers and color commentators,” said Todd Heugh, the current director of athletics at Troy Athens High School and a former coach at the school. “They put together a valuable (product) and the games are live on YouTube for everyone to watch, even if you are (a relative or an alumni) not in the area. I know coaches go on there (YouTube), too, to watch games of an upcoming opponent.”

The PMG staff has a goal of 100-plus games this fall from mid-August through November. The Michigan Soccer Network conducted a record 50 remote or in-person broadcasts during the month of June.

PMG also has contacts within Michigan, the Midwest and even in different parts of the U.S. and have become broadcast partners for more than 15 different leagues or franchises within those leagues over the past three years. PMG has multiple broadcasting rights for within the USL-League Two, USL-W League, UPSL, MWPL, NISA, WSPL and more and constantly expanding its web of coverage both on various YouTube channels and on our website at www.michigansoccernetwork.com. It has broadcasted more high school boys soccer and high school girls soccer at more than 75 high schools in Michigan.

“MSN has been a great media partner for the Bucks and AFC,” said Costa Papista, President of the Flint City Bucks and Flint City AFC of the USL-League Two and USL-W League, respectively. “The production and overall quality of our live broadcasts are professional grade. Flint City fans, sponsors and supporters greatly appreciate the MSN quality. We are always receiving excellent feedback and comments from our fans and visiting fans as well.”

And now the busy season starts in earnest with high school, college and youth club team beginning the 2024-25 school year.
