BAY CITY, Mich. – Asher Clark scored seven goals and Bay City John Glenn cruised in its Division 2 pre-district game with a 14-0 shutout over Saginaw United.

 

Clark’s seven goals gave him a single-season school record 54 goals on the 2024 campaign, breaking the 16-year-old record set by Ty Richards back in 2008. Clark added two assists for good measure before being subbed out as the Bobcats ended the game via the mercy rule after the first half.

 

Dylan Wood added two goals in the route, while Ruben Rivera, Trent Phillips, Landon Kogelman, Brayden Lang and Wyatt Jeske all scored one goal apiece for the Bobcats. Arrow VanWagoner and Landon Beson Montoya both had two assists, while Kogelman and Brady Priemer had an assist apiece for the winners.

 

Eighth-ranked John Glenn improves to 22-0-2 and will host Bay City Western in the district semifinals on Oct. 14 at a time to be determined.

 

BUCHANAN 9. COLOMA 1: Buchanan cruised to the Division 3 pre-district win and ended the game in just 40 minutes Wednesday night.

 

Mason Frantczak scored five goals goals with two assists to give the senior 23 goals on the campaign. Easton May added three goals and four assists and the sophomore now has 15 goals and 16 assists on the campaign.

 

Jacob Kuntz followed with a goal and an assist, Nico Sanchez picked up two assists and Charley Cowart made one save of r the win in goal.

 

Tyler Taylor-Owens scored in the 13th minute to stake Coloma to the 1-0 lead.

 

Buchanan moved to 13-2-3 overall with a 59-17 scoring edge this season.

 

Coloma finishes winless at 0-16-0.
