NOTABLES/OUTLOOK/COACH’S QUOTE: Since the Michigan Association of Christian Schools first began sponsoring a state tournament in girls soccer back in 1997, the Eagles have won more state crowns than anyone. The 2023 title was the Eagles’ 12th overall with six runners up. Faith Baptist only graduated two players and welcomes back a bulk of its team as they will pursue both the Wolverine Christian Conference league championship and another MACS state title. … “The team looks very strong this year. We only lost two players (to graduation) and we brought up several talented freshmen. The only position we are lacking (experience) is goalkeeper,” said coach Caleb Felber.

NOTABLES/OUTLOOK/COACH’S QUOTE: Although the Patriots captured the MACS Division I crown in boys soccer last fall, the girls soccer team is coming out of a major rebuilding campaign in 2023 in which featured a fourth-place finish in the WCC and just one win in the regular season. With most of its roster back in uniform, the Patriots would love nothing more to add a few wins to the tally this season and begin to be a factor in the WCC and the MACS.
SCHOOL: Rochester Hills Christian

2023 OVERALL AND LEAGUE RECORD/ FINISH: 11-1-2, 4-1-1 Wolverine Christian Conference (first, 13 points)

NOTABLES/OUTLOOK/COACH’S QUOTE: After winning the inaugural Michigan Christian Schools Athletic Association state tournament championship in 2023, the Eagles are reloading in 2024. Rochester Hills Christian, also a powerhouse in the Michigan Association of Christian Schools from 1997-2022 with numerous Final Four runs and state runner-up showings in that tournament, RHC lost some key players to graduation. The Eagles were MACS state runners-up in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The program also captured the Wolverine Christian Conference championship last year at 4-1-1. Four-time All-League and four-time Conference MVP Alexis Slota is now at NAIA power Spring Arbor University and all four of the Eagles’ All-League and All-League Honorable Mention performers graduated, leaving opportunity for younger but talented players. Last year was one of Rochester Hills Christian’s best seasons to date since first launching its program back in 1997. The Eagles outscored their opposition 83-25 last season but must replace a ton of offensive firepower. … “We have lost a few of our key players as they graduated, but I believe with the players that come back and the players that joined the team we are going to be able to hold to our strong team work ethics and work hard to hold onto our championship. We still have talent on the team and a good strong defense,” said coach Michelle Slota.
SCHOOL: Troy Bethany Christian

NOTABLES/OUTLOOK/COACH’S QUOTE: The Bruins opened the 2024 campaign with a 2-0-2 record through April 18. Bethany Christian own a 6-4 scoring edge with a pair of one-goal victories and two ties. The Bruins defeated 2023 MACS state champion Davison Faith Baptist (1-0) and 2023 MCSAA state champion and defending WCC league champion Rochester Hills Christian (2-1). Both of those teams are in Bethany’s league where the Bruins finished in second a year ago. Bethany Christian finished 7-5-1 overall last season with a 47-30 scoring edge and four shutouts.
